I was walking up the stairs with my first class, a grade one/two split, and one of the little grade one boys turned to one of the little grade one girls and said, "How are you today Madeleine?"
She responded, "I'm happy today and you?" which he responded with, "I'm happy."
It was so neat to see this spontaneous use of English in the stairwell.
